Garden Route, Winelands and Cape Peninsula:

Day 1
Depart Port Elizabeth and drive southwards stopping at Stormsriver, the Tsitsikamma Forest , and Plettenberg Bay . Continue on the Knysna, centre of the Garden Route . Enjoy an afternoon cruise on the Knysna Lagoon and overnight in the area.

Day 2
Spend today exploring Knysna and its surroundings. Visit the rugged Knysna Heads, entrance to the lagoon from the sea, and explore Featherbed Nature Reserve. Take the scenic, coastal train trip on the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe and go walking in the Wilderness inland lakes area, or relax on the stunning white Wilderness beach. Overnight in the area.

Day 3
After breakfast, travel through George and over the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Take a tour of an ostrich farm, also a good stop for lunch. Visit the world famous Cango Caves , with overnight in Oudtshoorn.

Day 4
Drive from Oudtshoorn via the Robinson Pass to Mossel Bay . Continue on to Swellendam, a good lunch stop. Visit the Drosdty Museum and then drive to the Cape Winelands area for overnight.

Day 5
Spend today experiencing traditional Cape wine farms, including wine tasting and a guided tour of a wine cellar. Visit Franschhoek, Paarl and the Stellenbosch Village Museum , and continue on to Cape Town for overnight.

Day 6
Explore the Cape Peninsula today, starting with the early-bird cable car up Table Mountain for stunning views. Drive on via Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak Drive to Cape Point. Continue past Simon's Town naval base and Boulders Penuin Colony to Fish Hoek, a good lunch stop. An afternoon visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens completes today, overnight in Cape Town .

Day 7
Focus today on Cape Town City and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Drive to Blouberg Strand for stunning views of Cape Town and Table Mountain across the bay. Visit the South African History Museum in the centre of Cape Town , and take a boat trip to Robben Island from the Waterfront. Rest of the day a leisure at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
