Blue Train
Since its inception in 1946m the Blue Train has been internationally recognised as the epitome of opulence. Synonymous with elegance and class, it remains South Africa 's most prized icon of luxury.
Facilities
The Blue Train has two lounge cars. Both have large windows for panoramic views. One is a traditional lounge – a place to relax and watch the scenery go by. The second, called “The Club Car”, features card tables, reading chairs and a small library. Here guests can watch a short film about the area they are passing through. The dining room has a more formal atmosphere for lunch and dinner.
Accommodation
All Deluxe Suites can accommodate two passengers with a choice of double or twin beds. The marbled floor bathrooms have a shower or bath, hairdryer and kimonos are provided. The beds fold down from a panel so by day you have a comfortable lounge area. Other facilities include a telephone, writing desk, television, room safe and 24 hour snack menu.
Dress Code
During the day the dress code is smart casual. For dinner, a more formal attire is required – jackets and ties should be worn by gentlemen.
To view the majestically scenic South African landscape from the comfort of the world's premier rail cruise is a unique experience, shared only by the Blue Train guests.
